🏵️😻Is it possible that the Sudeley and Southwick portraits are Katherine of Aragon?,especially the Southwick one.Facially they look to be the same woman, but the Southwick it looks as if she has pomegranates and pomegranate flowers decorating her neckline. The lost portrait which belonged to Margaret of Austria I translated from the inventory written in french that she was holding a palm leaf. Not sure how accurate Google translate is .I believ Mary Tudor/Brandon was described like Jane Seymour has being very fair skinned and light coloured eyes. The wedding portrait of Mary and Charles Brandon is noticeable for her dark hair and eyes, more how you would imagine Anne Boleyn.
I have considered that the portrait from the Gentlemans magazine is perhaps Katherine of Aragon and not Mary, which would explain her pomegranate decorated neckline. The portrait of Mary holding the fruit, may also be Katherine of Aragon. There is a similar one of Katherine, same style of clothing .Same pose holding what appears to be a palm(?) leaf and she also wears what appears to be the same necklace diamonds(?) with alternating pearls in a set of five.Would post the portrait, but no option.😻🏵️
I am intrigued why her neckline shows pomegranates and pomegranate flowers.(The image from the Gentleman s magazine)Inscriptions can be added later.I didn't find in Duchess Margaret's inventory .Mary holding a parrot .Were parrots in England then? There is the portrait of Mary holding a palm, can't find an image of it though.Palm associated with Saint Engracia. One of the Spanish churches I forget which ,that as statues of Isabella of Castile and Charles V(Mary was betrothed to Charles)Can you make out the images on the background of the Sudeley and Southwick portrait?.A figure on horseback holding a sword.Coats of arms at the top,but I can't make them out .Can you..What is in her hand and apple, orange or a pomegranate?
Eleanor Tremayne's book which has Margaret of Austria's inventory which is written in french describes a portrait of Mary. This is the 1516 one.Mary of England wearing a gown of gold( cloth of gold) holding a palm and wearing a black bonnet🏵️😻

Secrets of the Tudor Pictures is next on my list to read. Right now I’m reading about the Bayeux Tapestry.
Thank you! xx
